in the brazilian dub of this movie, Márcio Simões (very prominent VA) is the one that voices Hopper.
It´s probably one of my favorite roles of his. He´s so good at delivering pure raw villainy and mischief. top tier stuff in a otherwise very average movie
Bugs Life is generally one of my least favorite pixar movies and has some weird pacing in the middle (along with a really strung out liar revealed) but it has it has this message that's aged like wine.
Yea that's all fair. But I'm gonna just say this and not elaborate any further but Cars 3 is pretty good for a pixar movie and it's the best Cars movie.
Cars 1 is the better one to me (even if the plot is just Doc Hollywood but for car lovers), Cars 3 tries to be as good as 1, I'll give you that, and big shock Cars 2 is the obvious worst one. 😅
I'd argue it's a little more than just okay, given how it's doing Kurosawa's Seven Samurai like The Lion King was doing Shakespeare's Hamlet. Seven Samurai's overwhelming quality just sorta rubs off on it!
If it were more than okay, it would have better comedy, writing, and wouldn't have that stupid liar revealed trope that I'm sick to death of in media. 😑
It's also funny that the Lego Movie, an obvious advertisement that surprisingly has more effort put into it than Bug's Life, did the liar revealed trope arguably better where they got it out of the way during the first act and never focus on it again.
Man, I miss unfiltered Pixar. They made good film since Disney bought them, but you just know that if this movie came out today they would water down the meaning of everything hard-core.
For an otherwise very average movie, Hopper is easily one of the best villains Pixar ever created. Not only for his completely no-nonsense attitude, but also because of how he less-than-subtly represents corporate greed and classism.
I really do miss animated villains like Hopper, who can just go full evil and express it with poise and grace. Now we're stuck with pissants that come out of nowhere like Hans from Frozen.
Yeah, but his villain reveal came out of nowhere. No clues or indicators to suggest he might be evil,, he's been the model prince until literally that moment. He's a poorly executed twist and a poorly executed villain.

I like the movie, but... it's definitely low on the totem pole. 😅
*Cars 2*
*all of the Cars movies for that matter*
Okay I get it. 😑

Google "SRA"
Google "state and revolution"
Qnd then grow some courage.
Get it.
The ladybug is guy.
Meanwhile it's DreamWorks rival Antz just has a better story, arguably more compelling commentary, and even some better comedy.
It's just a shame that Woody Allen is in it. 😅
I don't find any of the characters that memorable and it's humor is VERY hit or miss
Maybe that adds to it
