Always going to happen when tertiary education is considered an export and xenophobia remains a vote winning policy. As well overseas students can be exploited to fill gaps in the labour market. Every party is going to keep the Argy bargy going on the issue.

As well as contributing significant amounts to the economy & workforce. These tudents are filling gaps in cleaning/hospitality roles. Caps will create huge issues in terms of the workforce. Universities are already cutting programs that are subsidised by the tuition fees international students pay

Just think about this for a second. #uphloto has just:
1. Complained about excessive international student numbers and then voted against reducing them,
2. Sided with the elite (those they recently called “antisemitic”) universities, against regional and outer metropolitan unis and TAFEs.
