A welfare bill for dentists? Didn't we get past this decades ago? In 1945, Grand Rapids, Michigan, was the first city to fluoridate its water. In the first 10 years, the rate of cavities in kids decreased by more than 60%. Thus, the idea of fluoridated water as a boon for public health was born.
