That sucks, especially for a USB mic. I wonder if you could get away with uninstalling the drivers for it and then plugging it in again to see if it works with generic audio drivers...
Hate to make this suggestion, but have you considered upgrading to a more professional interface? M-Audio was always a budget brand, but when they were purchased by AVID, they inherited AVID's terrible software update blight. (Speaking as a Pro Tools user).
So disappointing after all these years of USB audio. Also, what business has a 3rd-party driver to do in kernel space? It should access it via an API, not be located in it.
