I finally played Blood Dragon last year and it was insanely fun. LOVED the visual style of it, the goofy straight-to-VHS sci-fi action movie feel was perfect, and all the little details were flat out hilarious.

Do you know any good resources on the origins of the “striped sun + neon grid landscape” concept?

There’s probably lots of influences combining?

Eg. 80s airbrush posters with stylised California themes, window blinds and palm trees.
And video game / sci-fi book covers?
