Hey folks: I’m going to interview journalist Wes Siler about the proposed privatization of public lands. At my pages on and Facebook at 10:05 this morning. Posted there afterward, too.

I seldom watch videos but I am so glad I chose to watch this one. I already felt that it's crucial to preserve our federal lands. but the video filled in so many details that I hadn't considered before.
Not on topic, but extremely important to low pay, restaurant workers. Restaurant owners are taking a percentage of people‘s tips when you pay your tip on the bill with a credit or debit card. This should be illegal. I have started leaving my chip in cash. I encourage everyone else to do that too.
I have asked servers and it appears that it is a “service fee“ for processing the tip with card issuers. Basically it’s just stealing their tips. It’s not to share with anyone else. Anyone who does that is evil. My pregnant server this morning needs all of her cash. She said she pays about $100/day
I ask every server at every restaurant and fast food joint like Sonic whether they pay a percentage of their tips. I always pay tips in cash to avoid that. So far, every server I’ve asked has said that this happens to them. Every. One.
My daughter was a server too. The restaurants she worked for had a tip sharing system so not only the customer facing workers got the tips they were shared with the other kitchen staff.
She posts her videos on her YouTube channel. This interview is already showing there as upcoming and you can even hit the "Notify me" button. Her videos are gold.
I hope anyone who thinks they can make off with our public lands, knows we're gonna take all that back and strip you of your "ownership" when we get our gov't back. You'll be out the $12.99 that the orange turd is going to charge you
This is the protest going on in 1/2 hour that Wes talks about! Join us. Saturday at noon. At all National Parks. Check this link for meetup location. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...
Really informative. I’ve always thought privatizing these areas would be bad for subjective reasons like wildlife and beauty, but it’s great to have quantitative data to support why these lands must stay public.
Yes HCR is a treasure. I hadn't realized the size of the mom & pop business economy based on recreational use of public lands. Also learned about how multiple use supports democracy. I hope hunters get the message.
Yes. Unfortunately, not all hunters are good stewards. Many are but some are just out to kill. 😞 sadly. But on the upside I would hope it motivates these folks into action. However no action without education. I’m doubtful Fox News will run this kind of info.
We need to have a general strike on May 1, 2025: EVERYONE takes a walk in their local park; no working, no traveling, no shopping. We want this president to “take a walk” too.
Thank you. Good interview. I think it's worth saying that many people view these as "government lands," but these lands belong to all of us, the People, along with the concomitant benefits and responsibilities for their stewardship.
Thank you, unfortunately I have left the Facebook platform and miss your perspective. I will check your YouTube channel. Teresa Lyons, Fairbanks Alaska
Here is your country. Cherish these natural resources, cherish the history and romance as a sacred heritage for your children and your children's children.
Do not let selfish men or greedy interests skin your country of its beauty, its riches or its romance.

I don’t know- hailing a man who codified the assimilation and displacement of native Americans while taking possession of lands for parks- smells like the original rot.
Is it too much to ask for one who isn't also a brutally violent imperialist?
Pretty sure Panama and the Philippines have a thing or two to say about TR.
I would hope that anyone from our side would take the best of a number of past Presidents & wisely discard their less positive qualities. But point taken. I doubt if any President can be considered “perfect”, either as a leader or a person.
Interview John Stiles Skinner I helped build a government AI system. DOGE fired me, rolled the AI out to the whole agency, and implied the AI can do my job and the jobs of the others they've fired.
It can't. But, what DOGE accidentally revealed about themselves in the process is fascinating. 🧵
I would pay good money to watch a different version of The View if it featured Doris Kearns Goodwin, Heather Cox Richardson, Liz Cheney and Elizabeth Warren. Just imagine all we could learn.
Bluesky can be technically ready and able to produce its' own network caliber streaming shows. The talent you speak of is already here. The financing is here too. (Quality hardware needed is relatively cheap). PFV (pay4View) could be profitable out of the gate. Benefit...oligarch free media.

Have the people from the states with these public lands thought about how much on their cultural identity is wrapped up in them?
That goes away w/"developement"
