Nice - have had similar nos here for yrs. IIRC BWP mentions up to 50 but easily overlooked as pre-roost assemblies very loose, many keeping to small territory until enter main roost post sunset. Phaps why true nos. often go unnoticed by birders unaware of behaviour. Hope of interest. - ThreadSky

🤔 From reading BWP local species behavioural a/cs over the yrs, last entry many passer roosts c. 30 mins post sunset time. Often wondered if timing down to human eyesight, but also never much calling, any spp., after that sort of time (based on my 8 winters in Icklesham reedbeds).

BTW local geography helped me appreciate 'em here- my site a pri reed bed at end of a 1.5km peninsula, so done by counts thru' area along v. obvious leading flightlines - no 360° entry, why such a noticeable behaviour here.
