I remember watching this and having no idea the Ponds were leaving, it was devastating. I don’t understand though if it was meant to imply the State of Liberty is an angel? I think about that at least once a week. Good episode, although very sad, its on my comfort list ❤️

I remember it being a truly brilliant episode but it remains the only episode of DW I have never rewatched because I cannot say goodbye to my beloved Ponds again

I know I'm too late to be included in the podcast (listening to it right now), but I hate it! It's got a lot of good stuff and the emotional bits are hitting hard, but HOW ON EARTH DID THE STATUE OF LIBERTY MOVE?? I mean, they can't move when looked at. That's their whole concept.

And you're telling me the Statue of Liberty just walks through NYC without anyone noticing?? Also, I hate the whole "I can never see them again" part. Of course you can Doctor, just go to another city and take a train. Or wait a bit and go to NYC. Or write them a letter to meet them somewhere else.

A lot better than people make it out to be. I'll admit the statue of liberty being an angel is kind of silly, but that ending was truly traumatic & I'm still waiting for Moffat to pay my therapy bills.

I always thought The Weeping Angels were a bit of a one trick pony. Loved “Blink”, but they should never have been brought back.

Love it! Very clever how they show you exactly how the Winter Quay trap works in the pre-titles. As soon as Rory gets zapped you know where things headed and it gives the story such a doomed quality. Shout out to the music which contributes to that feeling too. It's so moody and noir.
