This little guy is from Moss 2. He’s based on a dung beetle. He pushes his rolling cannon around, mounts, and fires it.
I’d animate the bug itself moving. But the way the cannon reacts is nearly 100% generated using my spatial tools. Primarily the physics and aim tools. He was so easy to animate!

There's beetles that push the balls that contain loot as well as the ones that you kill to replenish flask of corresponding color for
How long did it take to animate? :0
Think I have a video of me animating him. Created it when I worked at Polyarc. If I can find it, I'll upload to YouTube.

In short, it’s animation jujitsu. Taking existing motion and using it to make new motion. So, put a spring solver on the bug, aim the ball at that solver to get free wobbles.
Wombat ordinance mobil battle artillery tank.
Cube though... Cause wombat poop is cubed.
Very cool animation.
I'd buy a game with an Artillery Dung Beetle as a playable character
esp if the lil guy is animated like that
@tuxedopato.bsky.social wrote alternate versions of the tools I created for my former studio, Polyarc. You can find them here:

I also operate an animation school that teaches animators how to leverage my unique workflow:

Dev’s website!
Cutest robot death I didn't have the creativity to imagine!
I love the speed and the weight of it all.
