What would have been the *legal* justification for dismissing a case that Garland believed was totally justified? Not a *practical* reason (i.e., T47 would dismiss and, *politically,* it would make sense to get Smith's report to the public before T becomes 47).

Simply saying "prosecution discretion" doesn't suffice. For example, Smith dismissed the cases against Trump for the *legal* reason that, according to the OLC, it would be unconstitutional to continue to prosecute a president-elect. Garland didn't have *legal* reason to dismiss.

Merrick Garland did everything he could to help felon Donald Trump avoid legal accountability for his federal crimes.

Garland's failure to drop the cases against Walt Nauta & Carlos De Oliveira so DOJ could release Vol. 2 of Jack Smith's Final Report was another way Garland protected Trump.
