Also: It requires Russian levels of self-delusion to argue that stealing the very Easternmost parts of 🇺🇦 is necessary to protect against NATO aggression, while 🇷🇺 borders with mainland NATO in the West are left virtually undefended. Giving up 🇺🇦 land only has bad consequences.

I have a lot of fun explaining that Russia could have joined NATO and the EU in the early 00's. Putin demure to the KGB goals.
I also have fun explaining that NATO is not particularly concerned with Russia; rather NATO stops any European country becoming militarily dominant via collective security.
