Congratulations.
This reminds me of my internal medicine professor that used to say (original in Italian):
"Learn lymphoma and its differential diagnosis and you know the whole medical science; it used to be Tuberculosis but it has lost its importance epidemiologically" (we were in Italy)
Looks amazing! Unfortunately I suspect a huge comeback in the upcoming years due to the antivaxx movement and the USA having last standard vaccinate everyone for it in 1972 🤦🏻♀️
You just contradicted yourself. You're finger pointing at "the antivaxx movement" then immediately acknowledge that health experts deemed the vaccine unnecessary decades ago. Are the CDC and NIH "antivaxxers" now too?
If TB started to make a big comeback in the US, it is conceivable that antivaxers would meaningfully hinder a response, which could include bringing back the TB vaccine as standard. There's no need to accuse someone of contradicting themselves.
I'm really excited to put my signed copy of Everything is Tuburculosis next to my signed copy of The Anthroproene Reviewed. You are one of my favorite authors and your work has gotten me through some times. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well as it turns out, bookmarks exist because in the late 1800s it was believed that staying indoors would help heal TB, and this prompted a huge increase in the demand for books and thus bookmarks.
I have no idea if that's true, I just made it up. But it *feels* true.
Two other offerings about this subject: the Plague and I, by Betty Macdonald, and the 1993 movie King of the Hill by Soderburgh. I was 13 when I read the Plague and I. For weeks after I thought I had TB every time I coughed.
I am excited because the second my mahm gets the audio book, we are going to take lots of long walks and car rides so she can have an excuse to listen to it!

Happy to take one off your hands. Just to help out.
And also are bookmarks Tuberculosis because I think it might be hard to find my place, if so.
