Question to earthquake nerds: Have there been…a lot of earthquakes in the past week?
I’m aware they happen way more often than we think, but with this, Japan, and the pair in San Francisco, just seems like a lot of seismic activity of late?

Did not know of that connection
This means, on average and worldwide, several M5+ each day, 1 M6+ every 2 days.
Events near SF past 7 days had mag. btw 2.5 and 3.5, thus far more frequent.

And what I’d say is this is just a couple recent earthquakes hitting populated areas that you’ve noticed. But I’m no expert
The San Francisco Quakes aren´t noteworthy. Quakes of that Magnitude happen a thousand times a week? Possibly more often.
