We're hosting these companies and possibly giving them favourable operating conditions when this is what they *choose* to represent.i wonder if there's any ethical/legal/regulatory considerations put onto companies who operate here, thinking particularly if they are availing of tax breaks/grants etc

EU states like Ireland are big buyers of services supplied by US companies.

The key enforcer of European values in Ireland is the Dept of Public Expenditure & Reform who choose suppliers.
