The conclusion I'm coming to is that no one considers the jobs working class women do as "real jobs" and thus the distinct fashion and beauty signals of those women are merely "trends".

There’s a lot of fashion trends in which people attempt to emulate the clothing and look of blue-collar/working class men, but there’s no equivalent trends around trying to look like a working class *woman*.

(Which says a lot, I think)
