How we handle water is sorely lacking. Too many impermeable surfaces leads to overwhelmed sewer systems and dirty water being dumped directly into water systems. Good luck finding the political will to spend on anything that doesn’t directly benefit voters.

This article points out so many infrastructure issues. The real problem is finding the political will to do it when that probably requires both raising taxes locally and getting the state to engage. Both seem difficult at this political moment.

A lift stn near me used to fail during prolonged power outages. LA County Sanitation installed diesel generators. Then added batteries to reduce noise & pollution. Gen still there to backup batteries
