The only reason the US Dollar has been so cherished is that people across the world have been extremely confident that business oriented, well educated, smart Americans would never behave exactly the way they behave now.

Our elections were long decided mostly by the well-educated classes of America, as exemplified by our lower voting turnout percentages over time. But Trump began seeking out "low propensity" voters, who are often less educated and less informed about issues. This has caused a shift in the kinds /1
of candidates winning elections in the US. Additionally, these individuals have increasingly avoided legacy media and have turned to terrible information sources online where they often are misinformed about the reality of their lives. All of this has contributed to the growth of Trumpism. 2/2
In other words, many Trump voters are voters who used to simply not vote. Now they're turning up, ill-informed and ready to make all sorts of poor decisions.
The rule of law is fundamentally important to the development of an advanced society and the foundation on which trust is built on. Now, it’s all gone and unlikely to ever return. Brace yourselves, folks, uncertainty has arrived in a big way.
Yes, the dollar is forever tainted. His goal must be to effectuate a Covid-like trade paralysis, and then extract compliance and concessions royal court-style. This WILL fail as long as Europe, East Asia, democratic Commonwealth nations, and, ahem, China- hold the line.
When all this is said and done, voting rights need to be taken away until people pass civics tests, drug testing (minus THC) and bigotry/religious testing. It’s obvious not everyone deserves the privilege of voting.
Fixing the political process is so much harder than anyone thinks. We need more than a 2 party system, and that’s not happening any time soon, especially with a mob boss president. When criticizing the American government one should be careful to say “Americans” as if we all have the same beliefs.
Nah they are dead. 🤪
Sorry, my previous post came out more snarky than intended. I think many of us feel for the ones in the US that didnt vote for this but, in the end a country gets judged a great deal from what it's government does.
🙂 Understood. People can feel whatever they feel about Americans but they should understand the system first. If you live in a state where the majority votes for Trump, votes for *anyone else* are eliminated via the electoral college. We can judge nazi Germany but we mustn’t judge German victims.
Oh I understand the system, in broad strokes, it does make for some weird outcomes but makes sense since the country is a federation of states. My point was merely that nations tend to be judged as a unit, which is unfair to the internal opposition but it still happens. ->
sorry to say, but in most western democracies there are at least about 30% or more citizens/voters to support antidemocratic populist idiots. How do we deal with that in a democratic system ?

But no! Oh shit, didn't Trump just dissolve the department of education?
That would be nice, wouldn't it? Ha!
Their only model of business was talking by force or squeeze to death
I'm thinking you'll need to fix your political processes to make another Trump impossible to regain trust on the international arena.
