I find these difficult not because they aren’t true but because they continue to portray fascism as something fundamentally alien to the US. It is, in fact, happening here and, contrary to 1930s Germany we have a historical frame of reference and see it streamed live.

I find the Lincoln Project problematic, but this clip is genius. The only way to have made it even better would have been to find an Upper Austrian speaker. But it really is great in a chilling way.

Broadly speaking, yes. But Hitler used stage diction in public which was primarily based on Standard German. However, his speech retained some characteristics of his native Austrian dialect, particularly a distinctive accent and certain pronunciations.

I share the same distaste for such stunts, and almost didn’t watch it, as such.

But your recommendation piqued my interest.

And it was shockingly well-executed, and certainly worth watching.

It’s just dark enough to possibly get some otherwise reasonable people to stop and think.
