OMFG, yes...and add on bookmarks and a FUCKIN edit button. The inability to edit, completely mars the landscape of your writing when a crucial typo completely changes the context of your phrasing.

I also wouldn't mind them borrowing from I want to say it was old skool Tumblr, where they'd put a marker where the most recent post was, so when you refreshed for new posts you could see when you've finished reading all the new posts by reaching the original newest post.

I’d like an option to make my page private. I had to block two creepy followers. One of them had followed teen porn pages. The other was foreign writing with some strange/scary graphics. I never would have accepted these follows.

I'd be fine with that if it were time-limited, for like 5 min or so, otherwise it's way too easy to abuse without also implementing a history feature.

That’s not a good example lol. Edited replies should be okay but editing posts means people could wait for thousands of likes and shares then change the post to something disgusting or racist etc

Large Mastodon instances run on Activity Protocol like Bluesky and have post editing -- works fine. I would get a notification of an edited post on something I liked or shared so I could go look at the changes. 99.999% of time it was just good old fashioned editing for clarity.

Someone else in this thread suggested a short time limit for edits. I agree - a few minutes to allow typo edits or changes of mind, but not for someone to milk likes or whitewash past problematic posts.

On Reddit you can’t edit post titles but you can edit comments but after 3 minutes there will be a mark beside it that shows it was edited which works pretty well.

Also a feature added to the chat bubble upper right in our profiles that’s allows notification of that persons posts! Otherwise getting that persons posts is a chance stumble!
