And small planes are the best for photography, aren't they? I used to fly with CASARA (Civil Air Search and Rescue Association) and would routinely fly in Piper Cherokees and various other small planes, but my favorite platform was the Skymaster.

hey Douglas, that sounds awesome especially to fly a push-pull aircraft! these are very rare round here, Red Bull has a Skymaster in SZG thats the only one I know near my place. guess a helicopter would be even better for aerial pictures but I still prefer fixed wing (not that I'd have the choice).

Beautiful, I am starting photography school in the fall. I am clueless about all the different camera options. I need DSLR or mirrorless and at least 18 MP with interchangeable lenses. Any recommendations?

thanks! too many options out there to recommend a specific one I'm afraid, everyone prefers a different brand and there is no wrong or right. but I can say mirrorless is the way - gives you everything a DSLR can but less weight and smaller size.

I'm a Fujifilm guy for example, liking their philosophy and layout. the X-T series has lots of manual dials and buttons which may seem complicated at first bit has advantages: you can change settings quickly and see what mode the cam is set to without even switching it on. just like in the old days.

this could be great for learning as well. would I recommend Fuji cams? absolutely. is it the right choice for you? I really cant say. get your hands on a few models and see what feels best for you. all the best for your lessons, it's gonna be fun for sure! 😁
