Can you direct me to a list of books that I personally should have , to help ensure young grandchildren have a properly rounded perspective and knowledge? This issue of book banning is one I have never been able to wrap my head around, despite it being a longstanding issue. Thank you.

ALA shares lists of most challenged books. Here's a link to 2023 that also includes links to previous year's lists. I'm not in a position to make specific recommendations; a children's librarian is better trained for that. I was an academic librarian before retiring.
