I'm usually the first to say that presidents receive way too much credit and blame for economic conditions that they have little power to control or influence in the short-term.
Not this time. This is 100% self-inflicted by the president and totally unnecessary.

Reagan- recession (spent out of with military budget)
GOP dogmatic policy is bad for the economy.
The past 6 weeks has shown what no one ever anticipated though: if a president wants to use every lever of their office to destroy the economy, they sure can!
This is literally more disastrous than any other Republic economic idea, by far, and that's saying a lot.
