Audio Engineer. Don't buy expensive headphones like beats or other consumer versions that are similar. Buy Studio monitor headphones from a music or speciality shop (Sweetwater if US Thomann of EU) cheaper and better quality.

Ummm... Loads of expensive USB Mics out there but the AKG Lyra can be picked up for 70 bucks and it sounds incredible. For headphones... 30 bucks you can't beat the Koss KPH30iK On-Ear Headphones (although a good idea to get some replacement cushion foam ear pads). $100 for a pro podcasting setup.

I can absolutely tell the difference immediately whether the barbell at the gym is a quality barbell, from the feel of the knurling. A good knurling is grippy without being sharp. I've left gyms that were otherwise fine if their barbells sucked. Stick with Eleiko, Rogue, or American Barbell.

Neither is a hard read, and both are actually fun if you role play, which we did. My professor would give me the tiniest stakeholder & the most conservative judge roles bc he wanted to see how I could turn things into win-wins, & knew I would know everyone's positions bc of years of debate.

I worked with Henri Nouwen at a L'Arche Community. He was such a genuine person.....and such a terrible driver. LOL. He always had so much going on in his head and heart and was so animated that people quickly learned to let him take the passenger seat.

Kind of a "maybe don't buy" recommendation: A 3D printer can be a great tool for many different hobbies, but 3D printing is a hobby unto itself. Only buy a printer if you've got the time/money/dedication to deal with maintaining the printer. Making models for 3D printing is a whole different hobby.

Absurdly niche, but if you switched from drawing w/pencils to drawing in Procreate, the brushes it comes with are probably holding you back. Especially in the sketching stage.

If it feels like procreate sketching takes 4x as long as on paper I recommend the Jingsketch Procreate Brushes

Most people think that a “good camera” will improve their photography. It’s actually having a very good lens and getting more practice. Good glass makes a HUGE difference and it isn’t always expensive.

You’re not wrong, generally speaking. It may depend on the purpose. The zoom lens limits bokeh and the number of elements in the lens and mess that make it zoom can mess with quality and “bend” or distortion. Pro zooms are very good but $2K each. Good 50mm is $250-300.

I bought a 50mm for my APS camera, and it took me A COUPLE OF YEARS to realize that a 50mm lens on an APS camera is functionally shooting at 80mm.
