Caught up with it at last. It’s even better than I remembered. Quality of acting was outstanding and directing/ editing gave it a warm cohesive feel.
Wish there was more like this on tv, but BBC budget cuts hampered Wolf Hall (though it didn’t show.) and I suspect things are going to get worse.

I love Under Milk Wood and will definitely give this a listen. I recently bought this book illustrated by Bonnie Hawkins. Favourite character - Rosie Probert who I played in my youth.

Thanks for the tip off, Mr D; caught it on I-player. I'd forgotten what a great work this is, crammed with humanity, pathos and humour. A phenomenal cast brought out Thomas' love of language and the deftness with which he plays with it. Wonderful.

Finally got around to watching this. Wow! Amazing, magical, not a step wrong.

As I said, in my long life, one of my missteps has been to have been mostly ignorant of this wonderful work. Now corrected, I'm going to get a copy of the book. Meanwhile, this marvellous production is firmly bookmarked.

Wonderful . BBC4 is a goldmine, they showed Play for Today and numerous classic series . They tend not to be on there for long , so we must enjoy them while we can .
