In 1955, General Mills decided that Kix cereal needed a mascot, so they debuted a hulking, unblinking golem with a manic grin, made entirely of Kix, who was also really good at baseball for some reason

Puffman is just some random naked man who dipped himself in maple syrup and then Kix, and hangs around kids until he's chased away. He used to do that with Cheetos but the po-po tracked his trail of orange dust.
The Kix Golem is just a normal guy living inside a kid’s cereal box, like so many of us, except he’s having a massive life-threatening allergic reaction to Kix and stops breathing in the now-deleted last frame
I never got why, on the one hand, every kid was trying to keep the Rabbit away from Trix, but on the other, they were always trying to force Sonny to eat Cocoa Puffs.
Could you imagine the mascot costume for that thing if they had made one for that time? It would be absolutely horrifying seeing anything like that come around the corner to "help you with your swing"
The Michelin Man used to be TERRIFYING. His name comes from “nunc est bibendum” - “now is the time to drink” from Horace’s odes. Time to run away and scream, more like!
This is what I was thinking too--it's suspicious that they have to specify that he's "friendly". Because the wisdom of assuming he is, without being explicitly told as much, is...questionable.

This is the opening to an alien invasion movie isn’t it?
@actualandyrichter.bsky.social did you know about this?
“Guess who’s inside the box” is not a sentence that should have ever been said or written.
And its instant pivot from creation to baseball makes me fear for everyone who exists in the same reality as this ungodly thing.
