Hi Bluesky, quick question for those of you that have been here longer than us, what's the main difference between this and X/Twitter? We want to use both, but we're finding we're getting more traffic through here than Twitter, despite having one tenth of the followers, is it sustainable?

It's worth persisting here BUT you need to follow lots of accounts & re-post instead of 'like'.
And you won’t be supporting a platform owned that utter bellend Elon.
Link cards will work as ever, but if you're posting an image for some reason always use alt text. Many accounts won't repost without it, plus it helps accessibility AND searching.
Bluesky is much more open and transparent, and an overall better place to share (and engage with) news articles.
Main difference is basically that the users have control over the service rather than the other way around.
And the platform itself doesnt fuck you over with algos.
Lists are your friend. You can create a list then add accounts to it, then pin it to your home (feeds). You can share lists.
May be useful to get into a starter pack for General Mil Interest.
2. People can post artworks without getting unreasonable hate.
3. Moderation is way better
4 and best of all: No ads!
Rather than Russbots, 14 year old fascist and such.
This is a more natural network like it used to be before the money grubbers took over and now every ad is Temu.

- too many ads
- too many retweets shown 3 times, 4 times... while missing key tweets [from those I follow] :
Twitter pushes virality too much
- The feed "for you" is just boring, full of valueless blue marks
The algorithm downrates a tweet with an external link...
However, I suspect it overrates a tweet citing another tweet.
A way could be to make a 1st tweet with the link...
Then a 2nd citing this 1st.
However, I often see on the main feed tweets from accounts I follow citing a tweet from another account I follow too; while this tweet (the one cited) never appeared, skipped by the algorithm.
And the nuclear-block button shuts down negativity, helping to prevent trolls from gaining traction.
