9) 5 September. Terrific thriller. I went in primed to hate this, and the greatest compliment I can pay to it is a) none of my concerns about it were wrong yet b) it somehow manages to get away with it. I can’t imagine not loathing it if I saw it at home and not in cinema, though.

11) The Monkey. We absolutely needed a laugh after a brilliant but harrowing movie. Bluntly I would say this is only funny IF you are in a “I need a laugh” mode, some neat visual gags aside everything in it needs a tighter edit, from script to screen.

Yes I was initially cross that they were making the film as Spielberg’s ‘Munich’ can’t, in my opinion, be bettered. However, it is a completely different perspective which was very well done.

All true. FWS was interestingly both worse and better than this, I think. As in, about 60% of it was offensively bland, 20% was terrible and 20% was reasonably good. This was just offensively bland. No swing between poles.
