The lacklustre way in which they’ve announced this does not really dispel the recent cancellation/resting rumours. Definitely suggests a lack of commitment/prioritisation to the franchise by the BBC.

I wouldn't read too much into it, as Scott says I'm pretty sure this was unintentional. Most BBC shows don't get their airdate announced this far in advance, so I wouldn't say this suggests any kind of lack of commitment on their part.
