To be fair y’all. Multiple people close to him have insinuated there is more. The main reason I think so is because the song that is on the teaser trailer isn’t even on the album lol
back like 2 weeks after not like us came out the rumor was that he was working on a fun rap album/mixtape and a more artsy rnb heavy album, and gnx fits the description of the first well and the snippet kinda fits the second. I def dont think a second album is certain but I wouldnt be surprised
But also I feel like people saying it’s not the “real” album are disappointed that it’s not as serious as some of his other albums but just don’t wanna admit it
There was no announcement of the album on pg-Lang.com like there was with Mr.Morale or any other major event. (Pop Out, Not Like Us vid, Super Bowl announcement)
Kendrick takes years to develop and release and album. Not only did this release fall out of the sky, it’s hella timely: He’s responding to ish people said just weeks ago AND made the perfect Super Bowl performance anthem (tv off).
No you right, keep going! I want all the theories 🙏🏾. I think the two gnx in the promo, the heart pt 6, and kfk making us all study his works like a library reference. Plus I need this man to give me shit to look forward to in these bleak times
I mean…this feels like a project fueled by spite and righteous anger. But it’s Kendrick, so it’s still layered and well-crafted. It feels like an amuse-bouche before the big meal.
If I’m wrong, that’s fine—bc this is🔥🔥🔥 on its own.
Two insiders already confirmed it. What sold it for me is in the GNX promo, the snippet not being on album. Sonically that snippet's very obscure when stacked up to the project. Either we get #GNX deluxe or...it’s sumn else cooking.
Allegedly he don’t include those Heart tracks on his albums. Per someone with a physical copy of the last release that has one of the Hearts on the album on streaming (it was added after the fact)
It's 2 things niggas don't know definitions and are reaching. I've heard this isn't an album it's an EP or mixtape. It its def, not an EP it's too long, a mixtape makes more sense, it's an album that's not cohesive. If that were the case in the past 10 years many albums would be mixtapes then.
cuz it don’t got “They Not Like Us” on it .. but knowing Kendrick he won’t even put that on the album fr cuz to him that’s giving Drake too much power to even have him or anything associated with him on his album
he usually does a very expensive rollout, he does interviews, announces a tour, sells vinyls/ merch. He literally just released the album & hasn’t said a word. Also, his album usually follows a sequence and they’re a little bit more Grand than GNX. It feels more like a love letter 2 the West Coast.
maybe because it dropped so abruptly. or maybe because kendrick’s albums are usually like life updates and this one seems more like a punctuation on the beef/love letter to west coast hip hop and not really much about him. feels more like a mixtape than an album.
The main reasons imo are:
-Snippet from teaser that was released before the drop wasn't on the album
- Heart Pt 6 was on the project when usually those are meant to kick off the rollouts to an album
- believe it was made in the past 6mo. Rumors of an album was already in play before the beef started
There was word that Kendrick was planning to drop an album since March with Like that as the primer but the beef blew up
GNX is fire but it seems like an album that was made in the past few months (Jack Antonoff producing as a response to Taylor Made, not a concept album, disses throughout, etc)
Because usually Kendrick drops a lengthy meaningful album. GNX was like a response to current events involving him and representing his hometown. GNX FYE BUT ITS NOT ENOUGH 🤷🏽♂️🔥
Two gnx cars in the promo (the one in the foreground with its lights on and the one he gets out of) and the inclusion of heart pt 6. Also this dude always being symbolic and shit so we read between all the lines 😂
not like us is not on it, the heart pt 6 is, and while its a great project, this def didnt strike me as a Kendrick Album, especially without any interludes or themes or anything. this seems more just to keep the fire going until the superbowl + real album drop happens
There are two GNX’s in the promo vid that dropped 5 min after the GNX album. It also has a song on it that’s not on the album and Kendrick has a verse on it about his Gemini twin “powering up.”
- I don't believe I recall a 'The Heart' series song on any of his recent albums. They're usually before the true release.
- Usually his albums are structured around a certain theme.
- The snippet he posted before GNX dropped wasn't on this album.
- Feels more like a 'drop' than an album. Still 🔥
I think it’s going to be a double album. He’s a Gemini. This was KDot. Next is Kendrick. I need someone to do some calculations to figure out the drop date.
Do u think it's not a “real” album or is there another album those are two different things ppl are saying as this is a “decoy” album which makes it seem like this album is an ass?
Comments
the heart p6 being on the album and not a prelude to the album
two buicks in the promo vid
his team and tde saying theres more to come, jobs not finished
superbowl in 3 months
DAMN/NATION conspiracies
Plenty more reasons but I’mma go on and hush.
If I’m wrong, that’s fine—bc this is🔥🔥🔥 on its own.
& like others are saying the inclusion of heart pt. 6….
This feels much more like a victory lap than an album.
I don’t get why fans about whether there’s a rollout or not.
Most rapper interviews are trash.
Like, what are y’all missing when you just get a good record?
-Snippet from teaser that was released before the drop wasn't on the album

And he never puts his Heart series records on albums, they’re typically on a mixtape or as a single
