You'd have to ask him that. He has said he refused to wear it because of his religious beliefs, which are that being gay is wrong... so it's not a lot of dots to follow?

You can, of course, not agree with all aspects of your religion. He clearly doesn't have a problem with the gambling one...

Interesting isn't it, the questions this situation throws up. Is it less about Sam Morsy vs the rainbow and more about a clash of ideologies and what we deem to be acceptable beliefs. Far as I've seen he hadn't been rude or abusive. Just quietly stating his beliefs.

But his beliefs AREN'T acceptable to a lot of people. That's the point? This isn't virtue signalling. Holding the belief that being gay is wrong in 2024 isn't acceptable. That's literally the reason why we still need to raise awareness of it sadly.

Sure, to us they aren't acceptable, sort of absurd. But isn't he entitled to make up his own mind about what he deems acceptable or not? We are not far away from saying all religions are not acceptable...

Discriminating against another group of people based on their religion, creed or gender/sexuality is wrong. Regardless of how prevalent that sadly is.

This is a slight paradox as I've said before when we cross the lines. Which is why education and nuance is needed.
