When I still lived in Seattle and not too long after having gotten involved with a self-defense program, I went from sound asleep to on my feet in fighting stance before I was fully awake bc something had tripped the outside lights & my & my roomie’s two small cats were at the window Very Angry +

I realized 3-5 _huge_ raccoons were in the backyard & had tripped the lights & the cats were just determined they could take ‘em (nope). The only real hassle was that the outside lights pointed right into the bedrooms & since they were motion-activated we had to wait for the raccoons to amble off.

I didn't know raccoon families walked in groups like that until we got these cameras

One night I saw four walk past an indoor/outdoor cat we used to have while she was sitting on the porch, but they all stayed calm

These kittens will be inside only, with a catio that I'll reinstall in the spring
