I’m trying to be diplomatic, but this EHRC guidance was not written by anyone with a remotely functioning brain. Literally unworkable in any context.

So the grounds for this is that trans women have "feminine characteristics" and trans men have "male characteristics" and that makes them unsuitable for single sex spaces, but I don't understand how you could possibly enforce this without also banning gender nonconforming cis people.

Putting aside the notion that "you must be at least this gender to enter" is bigoted, enforcing it ONLY on trans people can't possibly be argued not to be bigoted.

No they've explicitly said that the solution is 3rd bathroom It's just that they want to implement it in a fucking Jim Crow "Separate but equal" capacity where there are single sex toilets that only cis people can use and then a 3rd theoretical toilet that anyone can use but trans people have to use
