Elvis never sang “I Will Always Love You” as far as I know. He had already recorded the far superior (IMO) “Always On My Mind” so his purported interest in Dolly’s song confuses me.

I looked at the Elvis concert database and he didn’t sing “I Will Always Love You” in concert. Certainly possible he sang it in rehearsals or sound checks.

He never rehearsed it anywhere.
Priscilla tells the story of him singing it to her as they walked away from divorce court in 1973.
It's a lie.
The song wasn't released until months later.
