I wish people would stop referring to 47 as a businessman. Heβs a realtor and a dishonest one at that. His father walked away with 1.2 million in profit after destroying a Coney Island landmark. The Kushnerβs are another group of dishonest real estate developers. This mindset is playing out in Gaza.
is this the right time to say a minimum wage hike that was responsive to current economic indicators would help us break a reliance on overseas labor exploitation?
25% tariff vs making it here with >100%+ increase in price per unit. Tim Cook needs to push back against his bully tactics.

All you tech bros with the front seat to the inauguration with pay to play shit deserve everything you get!! You sold out to a man you could buy and sell 10x over
Here's a good article, which has very different numbers, but does explain the factors that go into projecting the price increases. I'm linking more articles in my self-replies below. The $30,000 - $100,000 estimate is from a 2018 article in Forbes.
Forbes, reporting Quora answer by Glenn Luk, Investor at Luke Capital.
"The issue ... is more about the supply chain and it is mostly about differences in the necessary skills required to manufacture hundreds of millions of iPhones at high-quality to satisfy current market demand."
It seems that companies are not as eager as Trump claimed to build factories in the United States. He must now threaten them. This says a lot about his supposedly brilliant economic policy.
There would be one good way to reduce manufacturing costs in the US and that would be to END EMPLOYER-BASED HEALTH INSURANCE AND OFFER MEDICARE FOR ALL. But hey, what do I know?
I don't understand why the Democratic Party doesn't declare: "When the country has had enough of Republican disasters, we will fire every civil servant who disobeys court orders, and we will prosecute every administration official who breaks the law."
Breaking news: Consumers go without quality of life building mobile phones as they make the tough decision that a house deposit and a roof over their heads is a necessity.
It's almost hilarious how Trump publicly and embarrassingly agrees every day with those who think he's a moron who doesn't know a damn thing about business.
Itβs a grift. He knows Apple Is Not Going To Make America Great Again. But he can drop that stock price with his BS threat, & then inform his βbuddiesβ when to buy -just before he swings the stock back up with another comment (any day now).
I think that Trumpβs business model is mostly grifting is telling here. He doesnβt understand complexity, he is just good at extracting rents. Someone who was knowledgeable about manuf or at least curious enough to learn could figure this out, and find productive ways to boost local production.
What this tells you...is that this is the true cost of making those things. We're addicted to cheap crap. We're addicted to overproduction. We're addicted to buying products manufactured by slaves. Smartphones can and should be built to last, not replaced once a year.
Is it so unrealistic that iPhones would ever be mass produced in the US. And if they were they would be much more expensive than they are now. So shut the fuck up Donald
He is not up that early, according to reports, a party was held yesterday in Jersey. We the people need to hold his social media person accountable as well! Periodβ¦.

Which is about the weight they should have.
BTW: Take your country back. Soon. No matter how.

Buy low. Sell high. Repeat. π€·π»ββοΈ
What a dolt.
(At least he didn't just reflexively tack on, "XOXO. Give my regards to the Mrs.")
