Speaking of DOGE’s mission, can you point to its official mission statement & parameters? I’m kinda hazy on how decisions on cutting regulations, spending, & headcounts are being made without favoring Musk’s businesses or to offset the massive expense of tax cuts for billionaires.

Have not yet read your suggested articles, but based on your posts it seems like you broadly agree with Musk’s assertion that the federal bureaucracy “represents an existential threat to our republic?” FACA requirements may seem onerous, but in this case the more (or any) transparency the better.

I think when you read links 2/3 and 3/3 in my thread you will see I am not trying to help DOGE, unless you interpret pointing out what it gets wrong to be a form of help. In any case, FACA procedures will not fix what is wrong with DOGE.

Of course they do. Their ideology is that government is the problem. Musk is battling over a dozen suits with government regulators. That's his motivation. Less government doing less. He doesn't want more effective government.

I think we are using "ineffective" differently. I agree DOGE wants government not to try to do as much. By "effective" I mean government that meets whatever objectives are set without great waste. I fear DOGE will give us government that gives up on worthy objectives but retains the waste.

Fair enough. I mean little of both. " Effective means "producing a result that is wanted". Efficient means "capable of producing desired results without wasting materials, time, or energy". (Encyclopedia Britanica) DOGE risks getting us neither.
