The odds of an incident are 1/10,000 per ride. That resets every ride. 1 ride is a stunt. 1 week of rides is an adventure. 1 month of rides is mundane. Odds are incredibly in your favor.

Just like speed limits, no parking signs, stop signs, yield signs, etc, drivers are always in perfect compliance with the law as posted. The restaurant on the corner two blocks from my house has bollards in front of its window for aesthetic reasons only.
