The only letter I ever had printed in The Observer was following a piece on how Everton was encouraging young people to get involved with football, pointing out that the external wall at Goodison had a massive "NO BALL GAMES" sign nailed to it

Also, as they leave Goodison, had a friend who was involved with attempts to build an LFC/EFC ground share in Knowsley, which floundered because Everton said they could never, ever consider not playing next to St Lukes Church. A problem they seem to have forgotten now.

The team pushing for the Knowsley ground were so desperate, they even offered to move St Lukes, brick by brick, to be reassembled near the proposed pitch.

Ah, thanks Sam! It was a true Labour of love, I just wish I had more space (Big Dunc telling that kid to keep up with his photography had to be sacrificed for Mr Testicle). Great that the stadium will live on too, even if it did mean an 11th hour text edit.
