I will just say - I now find myself having to speak carefully regarding my family to protect my kids. But as a parent, what is so distressing about this EO is the idea that we could be so prescriptive about who or what a kid could be at the moment of gamete fusion.
Honest question, though... Does this kind of thing invite a legal argument that could finally crush the push for fetal personhood (if a blastocyst has no sex, how can it be defined as a person)? Or do you see it going the opposite direction?
It's not about science. These right wing "Christian Nationalists" don't make empirical arguments. It's just words assembled in a way that will achieve their goals. A clue is that human life here starts at conception, which implies total prohibition of abortion.
