One I learned from tumblr: point-coloration in cats (i.e. the "Siamese" look) is a form of selective albinism that is only active at certain temperatures. The cat's extremities - nose, paws, ears, tail - aren't affected because they're colder.

This makes kitty into a heat-map of itself.
