It really sunk in for me just how much we're in the "post-movie star era" (and how Marvel specifically was who forced this to happen in the late 00's) when I saw the trailer for Thunderbolts and instead of actor names on screen, it showed character names on screen. I remember when Ed Norton was skipped over for Hulk, even though he was the hulk in the previous movie. How absolutely insane that seemed. I also remember articles at the time talking about this bold new Marvel approach, where they didn't care how big the actor was, get onboard or get out.

I don't totally buy that people are 100% post movie star, but I think people view them on almost an equal footing now. I already feel like it's starting to slide back toward movie stars again, just a smidge.

I agree with it slowly sliding back, both toward movie stars and directors. Certainly less people talking about studios as a primary creative force. Haven't seen anyone lately be like "I love the movies A24 makes," which I'm thankful for.

I might be in the minority, but im all for it. Less emphasis on A-listers is a chance for less known names to thrive.

I love my Margot Robbies and Hugh Jackmans. But I'm all for Jodelle Ferland and Ruth Negga getting a spotlight.

I'm still kinda sad about them recasting Bruce Banner. Mark Ruffalo does a fine job, but Ed Norton was better imo. And I hate that the reason for the recast was that Ed was a big fan of the hulk comics and didn't like how they changed him
