Appreciate how specific £66m is as your upper range is haha, but agree with all your estimations, though didn’t know there was a fixed clause on BS.

€80m-ish feels right on HE considering Frankfurt forward tax.

Interested: assume NUFC misses out on UCL, which forward do you go for at those prices?

properly (Zubi, LW (Nico), GK, maybe some LCB/LB type and CF) we don't need a game changer at CF, just a good and reliable option who has what we're missing in shot generation/taking and ball-striking. Really leaning Gyökeres atm, like BS but the numbers are a bit spooky. Don't know HE enough. You?

Tbf I’m not familiar enough with Gyökeres at allll, but Šeško is who I’m leaning towards atm. Less polished/ready than the others but his raw skillset excited me, the tools are all there…

… ball-striking is the one people point at - and rightly so! - but for me it’s always been his dribbling ability (for such a big, power forward-y type guy) that really draws me in. Think Arteta could do wonders with him.

Different type of player but feels similar to when we wanted Isak in 2021-22.

Otherwise: I know Ekitiké well enough from Reims/Ligue 1 days but barely watched him for Frankfurt.

Am a fan: he can do the dropping deep/linking play centrally stuff well, + has great footwork and a quick trigger in the box.

But less keen for what he’ll cost though, could see him flopping for us.

Was exactly there until I did a bit more numbers digging, which pushed me a bit towards Gyökeres. Šeško's shots and SCAs worried me a bit, but always loved on eye test. But also don't want to overthink - any CF better than 2025 Gabby J and can take mins off Kai (or vice versa) is transformative

Wouldn't you rather just blow it all on Isak (assuming Zubimendi is done). We went cheaper and tried to make do at LCM and have spent £140m on Vieira/havertz/merino and are still looking at signing a first choice midfielder, whereas the £105m on rice has sorted us for years.

In a dream world def, he's the ideal, but think we need too much this summer. Isak'd mean no LW, and much as people are mad at the idea of spending a few quid on a backup GK, we're properly fucked if something happens to Raya. Can't leave any gaps cos almost every time we have they've killed us

I'd be happy with Martinelli and Nwaneri (plus havertz and jesus when they return providing cover) if it meant getting isak. Plus you could still have some cheaper punts like Nypan. We shouldn't be spending £20m+ on a back up GK. A Neto type is absolutely fine.

Personally would go Šeško or Ekitike. Isak’s unrealistic, and don’t think it is good squad planning to sign 27yo Gyok to compete with 26yo Kai (with 28yo Jesus on our books too).

Would go younger, rawer, but higher ceiling. Esp as I believe we can win things with Kai as 1st choice. Just needs help.

Also depends on whether it's just 'one' attacker. I would go Gyo if it's just one. Sesko if he comes with a WF. You de-risk going for the unproven player if you raise the level of the attack.

I'm sure Isak would be enormous, probably to the point of impossibility. 110m at least for the league record. And all the other clubs would ask for 60m+ at first I'm sure, but I reckon there's half a chance one looks at a tumultuous global economy and gets tempted by a more modest upfront lump
