NFL does a great job of letting their good teams get exposure and trust in that being profitable.

For whatever reason, the NBA doesn’t and plays it safe by living in the past for their profits. It’s the dumbest thing.

How much of this do you think is because of Adam Silver?

I’ve liked the play-in tournament and the NBA cup to get other teams exposure.

Just feels like they’ve had trouble moving onto new eras since he took the helm.

I think the NBA Cup is a good idea for the most part. But you’re right they’re having trouble building new stars. Then the new stars they have are international and don’t have much interest in being ambassadors to the game.

I expect them to bank on Cooper Flag and Ant Edwards a lot.

It’s a process David Stern and his administration started, with Michael Jordan. They found that getting behind a player and pushing him to the top causes wild fandom, & hate. Both are beneficial to the league. They wanted to move to Kobe but there were issues with him, then Bron came & saved them.

Hey let’s compete with the NFL by putting middle of the road teams on national holidays and having an upfront confusing midseason tournament while also making the setup as confusing as the floors. At least we ditched the sleeved jerseys

This is a good idea with excellent potential and just sorta confusing execution so far, in my opinion. They could make this a THING and maybe it will be under its current model…just call me skeptical. I’m sure it’ll improve even incrementally next year, or perhaps over time with familiarity
