Imagine if that kitty went on to have kittens which again went and had kittens - with one batch of kittens a year, this kitty would be the 170xgreat-grandparent of a kitten somewhere today.

I'm impressed the cat is as sharp or recognizable as it is. They must have used a brace to keep it in place. Not the best for animal welfare, but probably the only way to keep them still enough for the photo. And it was only for a bit! Photography sped up a lot by then and they look wealthy.
