Probably smells the aluminum platter that the TV dinner came on but he's not going to touch the leftover peas no matter how much you tell them they are good for him!
That's because the plastic used for bags has chemical similarities to the fat in meat. I've had cats who really loved stealing & chewing them, but fortunately managed to keep them from swallowing any bits.
my cat actually ate a little green plastic bag that my roommate left laying around... the only way i know that is that my cat barfed the whole bag out onto the carpet... so yecch
I'm still (15+ years later) mad that my foster kittens, Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac, had their names changed by their adopters, but I'm especially mad bc Fannie Mae was white and had her name changed to Snowball. I would've accepted almost anything else. For a *black* cat, I would've been thrilled.
China Cat was named after a Grateful Dead song. She was so mean. We had to warn visitors, the cat will attack you. Tiny cat that could climb up your clothes and attack your face. I love that cat.
A black cat named Snowball! I had a black cat named Snow. Olivia Goldsmith put a black cat named Snowball and a white cat named Midnight in her book Flavor of the Month.
And: I've gone back to using paper bags from the grocery store for trash bags. They're 10 cents each while the "compostable" ones are near .80...but I put the trash under the sink to keep young, inquisitive cats OUT!
I use the paper ones in trash cans around the house. Double them up when heating a sheet pan of food, they make a great potholder between it and the countertop. I also take stuff to Goodwill in them. Always use at least twice!
Not actually the topic of this thread, but I gotta agree with you on the spelling of "Marcia." My mother spelled it that way, so any other spelling seems off to me.
Pictures of the past always feel to me like a pretend and unreal thing. Unrelatable distances. But when I see a cat in them, in the same way that colorization might work for others, I start seeing them as immediate and real.
Awww! I had a black cat that was a Manx. She was the sweetest cat I’ve ever had and most of them have been quite sweet, so it was a high bar! I miss her soo much!
