Probably not. Most people vaccinated after 1989 should still be immune, 2018 should definitely have you covered! But if you are worried you can have a titer test done to check your immunity.

Measles has an R value of >12. So:

I had my immune levels tested, and it showed I’m not immune to measles anymore. For reference, I’m over 50. I’ll be getting the MMR shot.

Depends when you were born. I’m
getting an MMR today because I’m old enough to have received the pre-MMR inactivated vaccine that was less effective. If you got two doses of the MMR, I think you’re good.

As a kid, did you have at least two shots? That's one. Second - depends on your age. I've seen somewhere that people born before 1986 are advised to get a booster but I don't have the source. Immunity against measles is well retained overall

I'd check w/my doc. There is a test (titer) that can be run to see if you're still immune. My titer results: I'm still immune to mumps and rubella but not immune to measles. With an int'l trip coming up (and a connection through Dallas/Ft. Worth on the return), I'm getting a booster before I go.

If you got 2 doses of MMR as a child, no booster needed. If you only got one dose, you can increase your protection with another dose of MMR.

That's not new. There has been evidence since the 1930s that Vitamin A assists with recovery from measles in children who are Vitamin A deficient. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends Vitamin A for children with measles. However this is not a cure for measles and does not prevent measles.
