Was there ever a line item in budgets for fed agency PR? If so, when was it cut? Bc seems like a lot of Americans don’t know what these agencies and their staff do on the daily. I don’t get what’s so hard to understand. But then again I have a BS in geology with a minor in math.

After 40+ yrs of living with 90% hearing loss, restless sleep, low blood count, a county VA rep convinced me to file for disability due to unprotected ears in firing automatic & artillery weapons & operating in areas of A. Orange. I felt it just the way of the war. I thank him every chance I get.

You could be my step dad's story except he would never be on here. He just finally applied and received help from VA in the last year for hearing loss he got from lack of ear protection. Unfortunately he voted against his own interests and nothing can change his mind.

Glad he got the help he's deserved all these yrs., too many like him haven't, for just as many reasons, but also saddened that (I assume) he voted for Trump & if so, fails to see what Trump is & what Trump thinks about him & his service. Maybe remind your step-dad that the VA is National Healthcare.

He never thought about it before as to why he had lost his hearing or even that the VA could help. Then he was talking to another vet friend who pointed out how during my s dad's service the side most his hearing is gone on corresponds with what he did in military. He told him how to apply.

That's how it usually works, Veterans taking care of Veterans. We've mostly been OK with the "Out of Sight, Out of Mind" attitude the public has towards us, but since we now have CIC who despises us, is embarrassed by us, we can't sit back & let him destroy what we stood for, when he ran from it.

Before I retired in Aug2024, I litigated cases for OHSA, MSHA (mine safety), Wage&Hour for US Dept of Labor. I tried over 1,000 cases, collected over $19m for whistleblowers, miners, employees denied minimum wages and overtime, and thousands of workers. I loved working for workers!
