Deferred resignation is a choice, you have to accept it. It’s a pressure tactic to get people to leave so they can say they didn’t fire them. There is DRP and also VERA, which is voluntary early retirement. That’s 20 years of service, at least 50 years old or 25 years any age.

This is happening at EPA too. The incentives to leave are offered very broadly and indiscriminately, so we will have too many vacancies in areas with key functions that must continue. Not sure yet if some will be hired back or lateral transfers will be offered to backfill.
