Memorial Day, July 4th & Labor Day can be a bit wild here in Chelan. I worked at the hospital. I saw the fall out 😆. Apparently it has tamed down from what it was, but sometimes.... LOL.

I just looked it up to verify. The SAVE ACT states you must use your birth certificate OR passport. To get the passport you had to prove citizenship and it is used as proof. So if you got your passport after you changed your name, you should be fine.
Still a poll tax and illegal.

I'm hoping I won't have any issues when I try to renew my passport. I changed my name when I married, but I kept that name even though I divorced. My understanding is that it shouldn't be a problem if I have a passport, but who knows what the 'rulez' will be in 2027. Scary times.

Everything I read says 2 forms of ID for anyone with no passport (about 50% of US citizens) or who changed their name. A financial burden and time burden. it’s a voter suppression act solving a problem that doesn’t exist. NC is trying to steal 60k votes now by requiring validation with papers.

This tiny, very rural red town a dozen miles from us had a HUGE turn-out for the April 5th protest. If the whole nation had this level of participation there's be 35 million in the streets instead of the estimated 3.5-5 million. More work to do!

Well we did have that one guy who drove around the block a few times screaming & slobbering whilst almost falling out of the truck he was driving. 😳 I was amazed that we had so much support from motorists considering this is a majority red area. We were all heartened by that. 👊💙🔥 #ElbowsUp

Yes, I had plenty of company this time!!! One woman told me she'd seen me at my solo protest on President's Day & was inspired to stand w/a sign regularly at the Post Office, the village square. I'll be joining her when I come back from, Denmark. Yeah, Denmark. Tripped planned last fall.
