Starmer said: "Labour's Manifesto for change is a plan to kickstart economic growth." So why won't he fix the thing that might actually make that happen?

Some think that a Trump administration would retaliate if we aligned ourselves more closely with the EU. But the US valued our EU membership (when we had it) as we helped with their trade agreements, apparently. And a relationship with Trump's America would be an abusive one at best.
sometimes i wonder (and hope) that he's playing a "now make me do it" gambit. i'm sure he knows it's the right thing to do, given his position before becoming leader, but the pressure to do it has to exceed the pressure not to.
We need something that will have a bigger impact and sooner. It will be at least 18 months before we see house building having such a role. Has anyone actually thought about where the workforce is going to come from to build the huge number of houses?
What also strikes me, Reeves said the measures implemented to prevent another financial crash went too far. She wants to loosen regulations rather than stopping the financial sector being hit by Brexit. Is she aware this could lead into a crash like the lettuce did?
She’s listening to the wrong people.
Investment Bank culture acted quickly after Brexit so the damage was done already.
She also listened to top professional firms, LLPs, and saw fit to let them continue with their National Insurance scams.
She’s such adisappointment.
I Ask ChatGPT 'Did Brexit jeopardize financial sector in the UK' and it returned 6 different reasons as to why this is true. Rachel could team uo with AI instead of neoliberal yuppies.
Because it's not in his gift to fix Brexit. Remainer British exceptionalism can be very irritating. Other countries have agency and priorities too. More British psychodrama? Nope!
Because the manifesto clearly stated that they wouldn't. To break that commitment wouldn't be a minor thing that would be forgotten about at the next GE. They should campaign on it next time though.
He is interested in deregulations, building free ports and recreating “Empire”, probably imagining himself as the governor of the east India company but only missing that we are living in a digital world world
He lacks confidence. He can see he won’t be able to alter the rules about media ownership, he’s still afraid of the press and he thinks he’ll last only 5 years.
And he knows the Rejoin process will take longer than that.
Especially with state aided #Freeports and #SEZs under 25 year licences.
True but apart from specific approved tax & duty exemptions none are the beneficiaries of state aid. At least, if they are, the EU turns a blind eye. Levelling Up money is allocated in England &Wales so our structure fails.

For some reason ‘confidentiality’? the DBT is not publishing much of the detail so we don’t know how many licence agreements have been signed or by whom. Presumably mostly international corporations with serious lawyers.
Govt must act now. Delay before termination of 25yr licences will be costly.
Like we don’t mention the other platform, Starmer wouldn’t mention before in case he lost votes, and now he’s in won’t mention it in case he loses face…or free suits.
I expect they know more than you do on how Brexit is damaging our economy. The lack of insight of why we have landed where we actually are is astonishing.

You have no idea of what is said at the pictured moment.
Now the small print.....

For the Gov of BOE to say openly that brexit hasn't worked is massive! Watch this space 😃
