Socialisation is the most likely cause of confusion on gender. And the central tenet of that confusion is that gender is ascribed by society, after birth and works differently in different cultures.

It means now discrimination goes 3 ways instead of 2 ways, as trans women if allowed in the womens, are now discriminating against cis men
